Now I've Done It.....
I put a reseal kit in my steering gear box, near complete disassembly. Then re-assembled and re-installed. I fired it up and topped off the fluid, then started to rotate the wheel without the pitman arm attached. I only rotated it about 1/3 of a turn then got tight, I gave it a little tug (I mean slight) I then hear a “pop”, power steer fluid everywhere. I believe it blew the sector shaft cover seal. I must have done something wrong……Any advice, any saving it?

Package it up and send it to Red Head in Seattle RedHead Steering Gears | Expert Steering Gear Rebuild & Remanufacture for an exchange.
Whenever someone wants to replace the seals on an integral power steering box I always advise against complete disassembly, it's not necessary and almost always leads to major problems.

Yes....now that you did a near complete disassemble (that was not really necessary) for a seal change and evidently you did NOT get it correctly reassembled, its time to go ahead and get a Redhead....
The inside of them is like a Russian pocket watch, who knows how they work and when they do its all good, but when it breaks, it time to just replace it and NOT with another Russian made watch. lol
