I finished the cluster in my 64 and put it all back together on Monday.
I get in the truck this morning and the speedo glass is cracked. I put a piece of small diameter tubing between the glass and bezel to keep it from rattling and Im guessing I put to much pressure on the glass.
When I put stuff like that together I use a thin tip plastic disposable monoject syringe. Fill it with silicone/rtv or whatever the situation calls for and cut the tip to the diameter I want. You can run a tiny bead of silicone on the speedo face, let it dry a little then set your glass. You just made a 1/32" silicone gasket. Those things have a hundred uses in the shop. They're Monoject #412. Search 'em online or pm me and I'll send you a couple to try!
