MicoEmporor is closing support for anything before 8.1 - I've noticed that almost anything that I might be interested in is an add in that is for sale
I did manage to get my mail accounts transferred (I Think) by using Outlook as a proxy - Anyone remember when Outlook went away

Outlook still exists, you just have to buy it now with Microsoft office.
Yep!
I agree "nose ringers" designed Common Core & Windows 8. My wife bought me a Lenovo for my birthday....and I thought she actually loved me.
The Classic Shell adjustment barely made the thing tolerable...The computer loved to drop our wifi signal about every 5 min or so.
Eventually, I gave up and bought a Dell with Windows 7 Pro on it...happy ever since.
As badly as I wanted to skip Windows 8 across the pond, I donated it to a family who's 7year old laptop died....I'm still not sure that my deed can be counted as being "good".
BTW - If you have kids in public school....pay attention to what's going on with this new "Common Core" curriculum - Obamaites literally crammed this through while everyone was focused on Obamacare. This is even worse than Windows 8
ive been hanging on to a dying computer for a while now! hope it hangs on for a couple more years as i dont wanna upgrade to that junk they got out now!

The windows non-operating system has been out for 30? years now - Do you really think anything is going to change - They use a 4 year change model, a 10 year support cycle and a 15 year hole fix - They also operate heavily on the knowledge that the business and home user community are afraid of a total swap out of operating systems and the cost and learning curve
