FF461 headers are shorties and spec'ed for 53 and up F100s with a swapped 460..... they are hot rod headers.

Yep.

Actually I wasn't sure if they were going to fit when I bought them. I took a chance and ordered them, and they fit. I was pretty lucky that the performance shop I was ordering from let me order headers, try them, and return them if they didn't fit. These were the third set I had ordered. I had tried two sets of L&L headers first.

I picked up the engine hoist and engine stand from my parents place. Should have the engine out in a day or two.

Of all people, my DAD started with the "might as wells"!!!

"Might as well"
-Pull the whole front clip off
-Change the rad support and inner fenders (currently 73-79 Ford)
....I don't like where this is going

Well heck, lemme add fuel to the fire!

.... Get the headers ceramic coated. A rig as relatively rare and nice as yours deserves more than what Sanderson offered back in the day.

The headers are ceramic coated, albeit 10 year old ceramic coating. I was going to try polishing them to bring back the shine. Or, is it possible to get them re-ceramic coated? There is a local guy who does ceramic coating.

Ah.. OK. I believe they can be recoated.. it would be a matter of reflowing the coating so another coat can bond to it.

Nobody understands car/ truck people like other car/ truck people!

Conversation at work yesterday...
Friend, "So, what are you doing this weekend?"
Me, "I'm taking the engine out of my old truck."
Friend, "Oh no, what happened, is it broke?"
Me, "No, the engine is dirty, I'm taking it out to clean it."

GRRRRR, I know!

My dad stopped in to check on my progress......looks like the whole front clip is coming off. Where is a good source for new inner fenders and rad support? Dennis Carpenter?

Definitely go to Dennis Carpenter for those. Buy me a set while you're at it.
