I just looked online in my area, and the ones for sale around here range from $7500-27,000.
The $27,000 one is a 2005 6.0, EB, with 147,000 miles. It's in awesome shape inside and out. Has the EB two tone seats and 4 captains chairs and the read bench.
But anyways..... Just buy something you will like in the end. Even if you have to to some mods to it.
Hey, you can always have the Look of the 6.0L...... I can show you how.... Don't mind the ring and pinion, but look at the 5 inch tip on 4 inch exhaust.
Yeah but then we'll laugh at him for posing as a diesel...
Well to expand on what I put earlier (I was being called into the kitchen so I cut it short) we test drove the 6.0 today. Now at the risk of having my account locked, an angry mob tracing my IP address and coming to my house to lynch me and being stripped of my Excursion I want to say this:

I Jonathan (Mr. Apocalypse) in sound state of mind under no duress (wife is finishing dinner, I'm alone) was not impressed with the 6.0 *****GASP****
Ok, so now you need to sit in my passenger seat shut up and chit yourself! It did cost a bag of money to getter like that, but never could be achieved on the V10 even with a truck full of money. Lol
No worries, like I've said you will be happy with the 6.8 its a great motor.
Please don't flame me, but I would pass on that 00'. It looks a little rode hard and put up wet. There are better deals out there. Just being honest.
Not planning on that one at all and no flaming either, but please tell me why you say that. I haven't seen it personally so I'm just going by the same pictures as you and all I can really see is the front bumper missing a piece and the rear a little off kilter.
Maybe it's the pics but the right front tire appears to be at negative camber. The front bumper is full of dings and has been pushed to the left. I'm not necessarily picking, however I've seen alot nicer examples for the money they are asking. I would definately be asking for more and better pics before a trip to look at it.
Personally if mister Apocalypse has to have a diesel I would only let him have a 7.3 diesel. Repairs and maintenance are much cheaper on the 7.3 than the 6.0 and at least every time you guys leave the yard you will make it home. With the 6.0 you never know when you'll see home again after you leave.

Just had to do it, Just had to go down that road...

HAHAHA!
While I did it for a little bit of fun there is some truth there.
Just two days ago I retired another one of our trucks, an OBS 7.3 turbo with over 450K miles on it. Truck has never ever not even once left us stranded. The truck still runs like a top, drives great, all that good stuff but however the WI liquid salt has taken its toll on her (like all our trucks ) and the frame is to far gone for it to be road worthy any more. I have no doubt that truck would have gone 800K+ if it weren't for rust.
Diesels, beast of the beast, king of the kings, Clydesdales of the work horse!!, don't own one anymore. The 7.3L was the best Diesel engine Ford has ever put in a truck, big mistake when they switched. Speaking from experience.
