WVO is fairly easy to make and pays for the setup equipment pretty quick. I plan on building a setup when I get out of the Army. That way I won't have to move it every 3 years.

When 1st looking for my EX I asked my self do I get a diesel or a V-10? Do I like the sound of a turbo spooling up... hell yeah! do I like big loud toys. yep. But after driving a few... the V-10 had all the HP and torque I needed or wanted. 2.5 years later I still feel this way.

This might be weird but while researching the V10 I had to make sure it could sound sweet and I found a YouTube clip I loved, quite a bit more than a diesel, will post when I get to my computer. I imagined it with the whine of a super charger and I'm sold.

A lot more $$$ to rebuild than a V8. I was looking at getting an Eaton M90 or equivalent to fabricate on my A4 once It's paid for and I have the title in hand. Instant boost at low range RPM's vs high RPM boost building. You could always procharge though, and get the best of both worlds!

Well talked to the owner of the red one... won't go lower than 4k. Still haven't seen it in person though so I don't know what to think really. That $500 feels like a lot on something I haven't see yet, but I guess once I see it I'll know exactly one way or the other how I feel about the truck.

You never know, I went to see my current EX at 29,995, 3 days later the dealer had there annual 4 th of July sale and priced it at 25,000... I went in and made a cash offer below that, they let me walk only to call me back 30 minutes later to counteroffer. I stayed strong even though I was ready to buy it, went home got my briefcase filled it with cash and went back. I walked into the dealer showed it to the manager (small dealership) he called the owner and 30 minutes later I was on my way home in my new ex.

Go see it, if you like it tell him 3500 is all you have. You never know... I will tell you I was disappointed with over 20 EX's that looked very promising in the ads.

You know I think I'll do that. My X is fine and will continue to be fine so if there isn't anything that makes this one jump out at me then I'll pass. I'm thinking I'll pass anyway the more I think about it... Really wanting to save a few more months and get a diesel, **** what reason says!

Prochargers have lag as well though.

True, there is some lag, but not as much if you were running just one or the other. I've seen where the SC will build the boost at lower RPM's, until the TC can take over building up high RPM boost. I imagine it's all based off of what your combination, and setup would be. Honestly, It's a lot of money for just a couple more BAR of boost. I'll stick with getting a bigger turbo for the truck, and SC the car.

I have played with a few prochargers, one on a B16 civic, one on a escalade, and one on a lightning. They are great for mid and top end power much like a turbo but nothing like a roots type. I like roots, I had 4 in my shop at one time.

I was looking at maybe an Eaton 90/120 type, pretty common and are only about 500$ for a used one. Rebuilds are cheap for them as well.

Yes the rebuild kits are fairly cheap but the process sucks. You have to simultaneously have parts in the freezer and oven. Over and over again and work quickly.

But they sound cool!

I don't mind some lag in trucks but absolutely hate lag in cars. I never have nor never will have a turbo car built or bought. They suck.
