Injector crush ring?

Injector crush ring?

is there an up or down as to which way that crush/cushion ring goes on the injector? before they are squeazed, they looked like the have a ridge one way. which way is up? or does it not matter?

clear informative picture. thanks. what should i use to hold it in place during install?

nevermind. the ones i bought have just enough tension on the tip of the injector

I don't count on the friction, I've had one slide down while installing. I dip the injector in oil, then put the copper washer on. This is like wetting a suction cup - the copper washer get oils between it and the face of the injector and the ridges help to form a vacuum in there.

Some washers, but not all, have little tabs inside the holes that lock them in place. Those that don't get a small dab of grease to hold them. Or oil, as Rich mentioned.
