OEM Manuals

Well I plan on keeping my 91 F350 for a long time so I invested in a set of 91 ford factory shop manuals Book 1 (body/chassis/electrical) Book 2 (Engines). It covers the F-series, F supper duty, Broncos and Econoline. I also have the electrical & vacuum trouble shooting book.

So if you need a page on something let me know I'll try to send you a copy of the page. One of the neat things about these books it gives you a blow up picture of what your working on with part name and part #

Just trying to be helpful not sure if this book is good on other years?

Michael

Not sure if you can find anything in the books but it will be awesome if you are able to! It is "fast idle" (??) or high idle when the truck first starts up ( it is suppose to idle high then idle lower after the truck is warmed up) mine doesn't do that and would like some help if the book could help. Thanks!

If I have time I'll take a look at the books when I get home tonight.

So far no dice on that but did find a diagram of cold idle solenoid and cold timing advance solenoid locations. If you want that I can send you a picture later on.

Well I searched the factory books high and low and not finding anything on this in there. But I do have a Haynes Diesel book and here is what it said.

These idle times are for 89 and up 7.3 idi's

Warm idle is 650-700

Cold Idle is 800-850

Hope this helps!

You may be my savior-- I am looking for the trouble shooting recommendations for factory tac system that is acting up. Mine is a '87 F-250HD and I also bought a set of factory manuals when bought new but there is no diesel tach info in section 33-04; but I ran across a post that showed a later edition of manual with the wiring diagram on diesel tach but that post did not include the diagnosis & trouble shooting part. Could you look to see if your edition has this and post-- best if both parts- general description and operation page as well as diagnosis and testing pages. Thanks!!

Additional Info-- diagnostic step A8?

On reading the trouble shooting steps, at the last page of manual shown (pg 13-01-6) I come to A8 which is specifically for E4OD transmission and wondering if the next page has a similar step for the manual transmissions (T-19) that maybe didn't get included?

Sorry These are the only 2 pages on diesel engines. Next page is on how to remove tachometer in gas and diesel engines..
