Choke ****

Im refurbishing the dash ***** and bezels on my 64 F100.

Will the **** remove off the choke, or do I have to disconnect it at the carb and pull the entire assembly out?

Memory going south? The choke cable **** was only furnished with the cable and is not considered removable.

It is easiest to work on with the cable out of the truck. The housing and such can be left in the truck.

Undo the choke cable from the carb linkage, but do not loosen the cable housing from the clamp on the carb. Straighten the cable and from inside the truck pull the cable out.

When I re-did the ***** on my truck, DC had some replacement ***** that were threaded and retained with a set screw. Wiper or heater *****, 10/32 threads, maybe? It's been 20+ years and I don't remember the specifics.
I removed the original choke ****, and as I remember, I threaded the choke shaft and used one of the threaded replacement *****. Seems I did the same for some of the other *****, as well.

Good luck.

I go through this every time I get a new truck.

This time I wrote down the info that I cant seem to remember.

I have had a lot of difficulty with the website the past couple months, log in issues, forum will not load, search works when it feels like it.

Computers! Can't live with them, can't live without...

But life would probably be better without.

Note how I said "Not considered removable", which means once you remove it you might need a new ****. Which may be what you were after anyway...

The choke **** was only furnished with the cable, it was not available by itself (see 9700 choke cable in parts catalog pic).
