Hi Guys-
Getting ready to bust my knuckles on my 55 F100 (original 6). Starting real easy, like trying to replace the choke cable. Got a new one from LMC and it has a thread for the **** - trouble is I can't unscrew the original one. Is it threaded? Any tips for running the cable or adjusting it once I replace it will also be much appreciated.

A lot of those weren't threaded; they were cast in place...you'll have to get a new ****, too, and now you can use a nice shiny billet one if you want. Run it thru the old hole in the firewall. If it's too long you can shorten it but be sure to pull the inner part out quite a bit first...learned that the hard way long, long ago. Hook-up should be such that when you push the **** in at the dash the choke is fully open.

Nid Fifty's catalog shows their replacement choke and throttle cables with the handle attached. You can probably adapt an extra one of the other dash ***** to work on your cable. Check the others for one with a set screw and see if it will work.
