My 130amp alternator stock wiring has a 6GA wire from the alternator to a 12GA fuse link and then two 12GA wires side by side from the fuse link to the starter relay. It then uses a 6GA wire from the starter relay to a isolated stud on the frame where it joins with the power wire to the starter solenoid. From the isolated stud it uses a 2GA wire to the battery.

I have the 2Ga. cable and 175A Megafuse kit from what used to be RJM.

I would go 4Ga. at least if you are running lights, heater and an electric over hydraulic plow pump.

I'm not sure I follow... so I just replace the single wire that runs from the back of the alternator to the batter side of the solenoid?

I replaced my ground cable from block to battery, the cable from solenoid post to battery +, and when replacing the alternator charge cable I installed a 175A Megafuse in that line.
This covers all the very high amp portions of the wiring that may be getting a greater combined load due to something like a plow or electric spreader.

Ok great I'll do that. My battery cables are looking kind of bad anyway.
