May want to Monitor FICM at cold start nothing below 45v mine stays at 48.5 cold, engine hot 48.5/49 also Alternator if not charging properly will kill Battery's. Most have gotten rid of the stock 110 alt and upgraded to 140 or higher

First diesel I have owned.only lifted hood to check fluids. I'm lost.
Ok No Worries, first thing you need is a Scan tool , like scan Gauge , dash boss and there even ones for I phones , I have a Scan Gauge to Monitor the sensors like FICM , battery's , alternator, oil and coolant, it's a must and will help problem solve some expensive failing parts. the Battery's if not to full charge will hurt whats called a Fuel injection control module (FICM),on this Gauge you can Monitor Alternator charging . Take a stroll in to the Tech Folders on the Main Page there is a lot of great Info from Members here . Did you get some new Battery's and did you replace them Both?

Had to go Back, looks like you added some stuff here, double check the Ficm and Glo plug Module connections they have some clips that will brake off and the connections will slip out , I had to zip tie both of mine .

Is that the 3 just under break booster? If so yep checked them.tight and clean.
well under the FICM there are three connections you will have to unbolt the FICM lift and double check all three connections 1 of mine didn't click and found the little snap, plastic snapped off ran a zip tie through the wires of the harness and around the FICM, same thing with Glo plug Mod the lower connection snapped of. what I did was used 2 pieces of 1x2 1 to bridge and 1 to help slide the connection on, a little dio grease helps too. look close to the grounds and hot cable wires off each battery they will get corrosive under the hard wrap and make for a funky connection. The Alternator if still stock could be your problem If you had a Gauge you could do a test or take it down for a bench test you don't want anything 13.3 or lower , mine runs at 13.8/14.0 all day. back to the Scan Gauge you need to take a look at V-ref ( Vehicle reference power) If the PCM is not producing the 4.95/5.00 power to each sensor then this could be, very rare but still possible. here are the PIDs to enter on the Gauge
V-Ref ( CVI)
txd=07e00221155 rxf=046205110655 rxd=3010 mth=00013330000
these are Ford X Gauge commands PIDs enter these into the Gauge
Time for some type of gauge so you can see what needs attention instead of guessing, which is what everybody will be doing until you get some numbers and readings from the engine. Great info here on which ones work https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/13...eral-info.html

If you turn the key to the run position then crank the starter by jumping the wire to the positive post of the battery will it start? Also try unplugging the EBP sensor and attempt to start it. The EBP sensor will be located either next to the thermostat housing or just below the FICM and is attached to the front of the drivers side exhaust manifold via steel tube.
