WOW, you all got those big dogs, A few years back I had the oportunity to work with the Childrens Make A Wish Foundation and a young boys wish was for a puppy! After doing some research on dogs that would fit his profile we came up with the Pekingese breed. He got his Peke puppy and was the best therapy he had to date. It just so happened one puppy fell in love with my wife,so we took home a new family member!
The breed really has some history to them, very interesting if you like dogs!

We always had Collies around the house when I was a kid. Some Lassie types, some Borders and some mixes between the two. The best one I had was one of the mixes. Dang dog was too smart for his own good a lot of the time. When I left home to go to boot camp, my mom gave him away.
When I got divorced from the previous Mrs *****, I got to keep the Catahoula as they didn't like each other anyway. After I lost him, I got another Border Collie that was killed in a hunting accident.
Now I have a Shetland Sheepdog (Sheltie/Mini Collie) and wouldn't trade her for anything. The new Mrs ***** has a 15 yr old Mexican Death Dog (Chihuahua) and a Minature Pinscher (Mini Dobie). All three like to ride around in the BII.
I'm thinking about buying a dachsund. I've always wanted to get a long little doggie.
Seriously, I recently adopted a German Shorthair from the local Humane Society. She's a great dog. I recommend adoption for anyone looking for a new pet.
I have an 8 month old blue tick, he's a very loving dog. My dad has a chow that is almost as old as I am, and will still kill anything that gets in range of her run. My sisters also have a golen retriever and a butt ugly and stupid mutt, but he is playful, so they like him....
Our two Papillons own us... along with the 4 cats we had first. Sadie the female and Rowdy the male. Purebreds but not registered... they are family and I wouldn't register my kids either if I had any. Great little dogs and very intelligent. One of the happiest dogs you will ever find.
