axle width

can someone tell me how much wider the front axle is than the rear axle on my 72 f100? I want to add some spacers to the rear that will allow the tires to track on the same path.

I think it's 3" but I'm not certain.

Welcome to FTE newbie!
I used the search engine above and found where HioSilver said the rear is 2" narrower recently.

To clarify it's two inches on each side:

61.25 inches 1957-1972 Ford F-100 Pickup
65.25 inches 1973-1986 Ford F-150 Pickup

Rear End Widths

To visually correct, spec rear tires that are two inches wider than the front tires with proper wheel offset of course.

I am using 15X8 rims, planning on running 10" wide on Front and 11" wide on rear. would you suggest running 2" spacers on each side? and thanks for the info.

I think you'll have trouble getting 11s to fit on the back, unless the offset is perfect.

The rear wheel well is about 13.25 inches wide.

Is the 11-inch width you're referring to is the tread width? You'll need to account for the sidewall bulge - the section width.

The rear axle on my 67 f100 is 60 inches wheel mount surface to wheel mount surface. In the past, I used a 1.5 inch spacer on each side to get it more visually in line with the front.
