Wheel Sizes

I have a 97 F350 CCLB 4x4. I am beginning to look at new wheels for my truck. I was initially leaning towards 17s, but now I'm a little torn between 17s and 18s. I do plan on keeping my 16s as an extra set, but, there doesn't seem to be as big a tire selection as there used to be. I don't do a lot of "off roading", just the occasional drive through the pasture and occasionally pulling a gooseneck trailer. But, nothing real heavy.
Out of the larger wheels, which would be more practical?

I think 17s would be more practical, but it depends on the tire size you run. Personally I like more rubber than steel, but to each their own.

Around my town I see lots of mall crawlers with 17s-20s with low profile up to 36s

the large rim/ smaller sidewall on the tire gives a rougher ride. the large sidewall on the tire and smaller rim size, gives a better ride.
