Max tire size...again.
Hi. New to the site. Have a question regarding tire size. My 2005 F250 4x4 came w/ the stock 17" rims. I have recently aquired a set of factory 20" wheels. I have no aftermarket mods to the truck. Does anyone out there know what size tire I can get away with without suffering from rub etc.? At this point I don't want to lift or even level the truck. Thanks.

The tire size is the same regardless of the rim size, unless you like the metric system. You can put a 34" - 35" tire, on a 17" wheel, an 18" wheel or a 20" wheel. The tire *could* rub dependent on the offset/backspacing and the amount of flexing of the suspension you do (do you offroad and twist it up)?

Thanks for your response. I don't do a lot of "off roading", but do carry a cabover camper and tow a boat. As a guy, it's in my DNA to want the biggest wheels as I can get, but I think I'll play it safe and go with the stock size that Ford puts on these rims from the factory. Even those are a huge improvement over the ones I've got now. Thanks.

The 20" tire & rim option comes with Goodyear Wrangler ATS tires in an LT275/65Rx20E size. They measure in at roughly 34.1" in height, fill the wheel wells nicely, and still give you a bit over 7" of sidewall.
