Unless you have studs in that engine your going to
need this tool (OTC 303-1170) to change that rocker assembly out.

A cylinder full of liquid
An engine that had a lifter not bleed down
Over speed of the engine
Flat camshaft.
Replace the broken parts and retest. Most survive just fine.

Not any way that I am aware of.

Cheezit may have an idea of a work-a-round.

So might be a dumb question but here it is. Why can't I just pull the one head bolt and pull the rocker arm and then re install to proper torque?

That might work, ..... If you installed a new head bolt. Those bolts get stretched a lot when torqued. Reusing will very likly be a problem. The problem is, even with a new bolt,it hasn't been done enough to assess the risks.

Never reuse TTY bolts. They are done.
Here is a fair explanation about TTY.

Also if you don't get it right you may at the least
end up doing a head gasket at the worst warped head.

Been curious on this for awhile. Looking at pics the rockers are held in place via the head bolt (if I seeing it correctly) To me that is just plain wrong
That puts it to any work done externally on the valve train you would have to change bolts and heck it would be worth putting studs in just for that. Crazy in my opinion.

As many people do studs and use the ford gaskets that come with new bolts, surely someone here has head bolts laying around. We have joked around about what other uses we could find for them.

You find the bolts on Ebay all the time.

With the tool you can remove all but the one plate.
That plate looks reasonably solid. It's the the arms
that take the beating.
