You will not be saying that after your mods and pulling a house, LOL
I'm hoping to have a 5er by RRE 2015. Not looking for a 35 footer like yours, maybe a 26'-28' for just me and the wife. I have plans in the future of towing another trailer behind the 5er, so I don't wanna go too big. There is a legal length limit. I ran into this problem when I had my SD pulling a 39' hitch pull camper and trying to pull another 20' trailer behind it. I was over the legal length limit of 72' I think it was. When I get me a 5er though, you and I will show these boys how to tow! LOL!!!
Our last 5er was 27' and it was just fine until we started living in it for six months out of the year.
You mean Darin & I will show you guys how to tow, !!
If we can get Darin to come! LOL! True though, I don't pull the weight you guys do on a normal basis. I average about 10k with all the different stuff I pull. Sometimes not that much, but sometimes way more. You pulling 18.5k 6 months out of the year gives a whole new meaning to "towing"! You just miss the trains don't you! LOL!!
I would love to get Darin to come! I have to get my butt there too, LOL Actually I hate trains, don't even like looking at them. I liked the job but the boss's and company ruined it. They are a bunch of AHs. I hear its even worse now! GPS tracks every thing they do
I hope nothing happens next year like this year and I can make it. I've been looking at some older 5ers that I can pick up cheap that need some work. Hopefully I can find one and have it ready by then. I really been wanting another camper bad. I've always had a camper for as long as I can remember up until about five years ago. When my Dad got sick, we couldn't go anywhere, so the 39' I had sat in the same spot for the last 2 years I had it, so I just sold it. My Dad has been gone for 4 years now and I have wanted to get another one, but after he passed the coal industry has been on a downward spiral here, and I don't want to finance anything. That's why I just wanna find an older one that needs some work so I can get it cheap enought to just pay for it.
You can bet i will be there. That is my vacation! I think i would like to get there a day or two earlyer this next time around too. May even take a couple days to get there so we can stop a a couple different sites. But the convoy is so fun though. Guess i will figure it out when it gets closer.
I have seen people with a pop up camper on a flat bed trailer. Then they still have a section in the back of the trailer for a 4 wheeler or anything else.

Theres an RV dealership, literally probably two miles from Aarons house. We went there a couple weeks ago and they had a 23' 5er on sale. They've put some money into it and its got a bunch of new stuff in it. I guess the roof leaked on them and the floors soft right before the bathroom. Not to mention its been on their lot for a minimum of 2 years. They want it GONE and it says $2500 cash. No doubt in my mind they could be talked down some more lol.
After seeing the price, I looked at my gf with a big smile on my face and she said, "No".... lol
I can get some more info for you if you want. Its pretty small at 23' and no slide out but it seems like a pretty good deal!
I DO NOT like to mess around when it comes to towing. Plus my trucks powerband is 70 mph and up. It's not my fault that's where it likes to run!!! Lol. The wife has already made a few comments about RRE, so as of now, I'm in. After seeing it firsthand last year, she now knows what to expect and how much I enjoyed it.
I might not be bringing my truck this year, but I WILL be there.
We weren't wasting any time getting home either were we?
I'm looking forward to it and the wife is on board, so I'm planning to be there. I wish we could have a better camper for the trip, but that may not happen this year. We'll just have to wait and see, I guess.
