I wanted to make one pass for someone a lot of us knew and loved, since diesel drags were kinda his thing and all (Steve)...but, we'll see what the alternate plan ends up being.
My truck is in pieces at the moment, lots to do, every time I look I see more I can do. $$ are the problem.

I just never know these days. I may be loosing my job any day. They had everybody but me laid off for a while. Called on guy back last week. We had one piece of equipment to build, and hoped that would hold us over until two other things came around that were lined up for a little later, but we got a call Tuesday and all three pieces were cancelled. So, we are back to having zero work in the shop again, and nothing on the horizon either. I am submitting some resumes to some places this week. One is a windmill farm that needs a tech. It's not far from me either. I don't know what the pay is like, but I'm gonna send them a resume and try to get an interview. I am covered up in my shop here at home though! LOL! I took off work today to get the shop cleaned up and organized. I have six trucks waiting to be worked on!
Fortunately I landed in highway bridge work. We're pretty busy right now...oddly enough. Didn't know there were wind farms down your way.
Yeah. There are a couple places where they have them strung out along ridge tops. The one I am sending a resume to is only about 30 min from me. I gotta do something to get out of the coal industry. It was good for years, but in this area right now, it's about done.
I gotta do something. It sucks being 44 years old and looking at starting all over again in another lined of work.
Yeah, I kinda know how you feel. When I lost my job back in December I thought the same thing at 42. I've known engineering for 20 years now, and just because I have a piece of paper doesn't mean a whole lot with today's construction industry being what it is.
Sounds like you could make a job out of working on other peoples stuff Bill lol. My gfs dad is an incredibly good mechanic but makes a living as a maintenance guy at a Wal Mart Distribution center. Around here, it's a "come and go" job (because it's so political, for lack of better words) and his wife always says "If you do get fired for some reason, you can make a living working on stuff" lol

I wonder if I met him when I have gone there in the past?
