The camper I'm getting IS a front living room. The living room is up over the fifth wheel and the bedroom is in the back. It doesn't have a slide, but the living room being up there makes it a little more roomy than most without a slide.
yeah Bill!! Welcome to the world of a house with wheels under it.
I got home a little earlier than expected, but thanks Nate for posting the pic for me.
You are exactly right Glenn....it's 32'. It needs a good cleaning and a couple small things fixed, but it has 4 new tires and a brand new refrigerator in it, and for $2300, it wasn't a bad deal at all. It pulls real good too. It was about 170 miles away, and I pulled it 70 mph most of the way back with it, so it is road worthy. I'm pretty happy with it. My last camper was a 38', but not a fifth wheel, and it was a tad too big. I think this one will be just right. I've had a few campers over the years, but haven't had one for about 6 years, so I'm glad to have another one and get back into camping like we used to.
Lucky guess huh Bill? I know our trucks pull at 70 mph great. I say it, Darin has said it, now you. I'm sure you will be happy with it for a long time. Unless you give in to the 'I want a newer one, a better one, , LOL We still look at some for sale once in awhile. We might look at one tomorrow for sale two blocks from here. My problem is I have everything set up the way I like it now and it would be a ton of work to move everything over to another one!
I dunno - I didn't wanna hit 70 with a 22' trailer and a show truck on the back with mine...lol. Maybe ya'll are pulling gooseneck/fifth wheel - I was pulling flat (Class 3/4 hitch) off the frame - and that makes a difference I've heard.
I'm partial to 5th wheels. I've had a few bumper pulls scare me half to death. It was my fault because I wasn't properly loaded but after that I put sway bars on my trailers. A 5th wheel just feels so much part of the truck, more solid.
I've only pulled a handful of times, and my trip to Indy was the first with the diesel. Mostly smaller cargo type trailers, with the trailer my show truck went on probably being the biggest. I've often thought about outfitting the OBS with a gooseneck ball - not sure if I'll go there or not.
Looks great, Bill!,..Happy for ya... The front looks kind of anti-aerodynamic though.. lol, is that even a word? Will be interesting to see if your mpg's drop much while towing it. Made my reservations for rre today. They gave me site 23. I was in 21 last time. You guys need to get your reservations in. maybe we can fill up those 2 whole rows or more!
I pull our TT at 70 mph with no problems, but my last truck was a 3/4 ton CCSB and it put me in the other lane against my will a few times...hence the reason for the dually.
