E350 Camper 4x4 conversion question

Ok, Here is my take on this. The 08 will work for the front axle. The brackets should work on the frame, you may have to drill some new holes for mounting. The steering should work, as you will have the steering box, pitman arm and all of the rest of the components. The transmission will not work as the 08 should be the 5 speed trans and your 97 whould be a 4 speed trans. Your computer will not be able to control the transmission. The front driveshaft more than likely wont work, and the rear shaft will need to be shortened.
You would be better off finding a donor vehicle closer to your year, or do a new conversion. Ujoints kit is 3600 for the parts, you still need to find an axle and the 4x4 transmission and transfer case, plus you would still need to get the driveshafts taken care of. The front axle is just a 99-04 Superduty axle.
