So how did Brian sort out the trans that wasnt right? The case is the same? Did he just have a shelve of spare internal parts that he pretty much hand made an E4OD? How much was he able to retain.
It certainly does ha I was able to run the cruise all the way back and it didn't miss a beat, pulled all the Arkansas and south Missouri hills great! It's nice being able to run over 5 psi boost without the tranny slipping! Getting my mud flaps installed right now and the chip switch put in place of the old one, then when it gets back from the accessory shop I'm gonna have to change the tensioner that's going bad I found down there yesterday
Well a variety of things happened yesterday, the tranny being wrong, which is now fixed, my chIP (which was installed previously by the P.O.) was installed incorrectly into the pcm, which Brian suspected so he removed the pcm and found the formatting on the chip junk so I got another one from him, then the wire to the switch was completely smashed between the park brake assembly and the chassis, so he programmed the new chip with his tunes and all is well in that world now, we went and drove for probably 20 miles putting the trans through her paces and trYing out the different tunes, everything worked great, Brian seemed to really like the 97, he said he used to have a red one he missed lol we went out to lunch in lead hill and had a nice conversation about the emissions on the new trucks which we both dislike. I have some pics I need to upload, all in all it was a great experience I would recommend them to anyone who wants the best trans possible.
Sounds really good man.I am guessing those Stage 1s are awake now? And yes...photos!!!
Most of his internals are custom anyway, he doesn't re use much. But yes he has parts everywhere in the tranny rebuild room, honestly idk how he keeps it straight lol bUT doing it for many years does help I'm sure....
Yeah, John's place was the same way....extremely organized, but stuff EVERYWHERE. He usually has 3 or 4 going at once. I need to get something done with my tunes. Then it would probably be pretty perfect.
Nice shots dude!! Glen, you are right. I just hope I can get mine a little better. It shifts pretty darn good, but it will still do the E4OD "too early" thing at times. As soon as I touch the throttle though, it actually does what it should, unlike the crappy Ford reman that came out of there.
Mine now shifts great 1 through 3, 3 to 4 is a little firmer than I would like but Brian said it will smooth out some with time, and it has gotten better hopefully it continues improving

I like to call that organized chaos. From time to time, things are in random places that shouldn't be there, but it makes total sense to look for it where it shouldn't be, instead of where it should.
Those shots looks pretty sweet! I've never seen an automatic transmission before, looks nice with all new parts now!
I thought that was a different case! I guess too, he got it cleaned up! Wow. He must hot tank them or something. That or he's got one kickin' steam genny.
