6.2L F350 CC 4x4 LB 3.73's vs 4.30's MPG Difference?

The 4.30 gears are just not setting on dealer lots. I looked a long time and never did find a used 4.30 equipped 250, and finally settled for the 3.73's. Pulling, it did ok, but the folks with 4.30's say they do great when pulling.
On the mpg, with other vehicles I have owned, the final gear ratio didn't really make as much difference as one might think. How any given individual operates the skinny pedal has more to do with mpg than anything on a given vehicle.
I had a freind drive my 2014 Mustang GT to Arizona for me, and he got about 2.5 to 3 mpg better than I can get out of it, but then I probably have more fun!
Same vevicle, different driver.

Mileage will vary from driver to driver but unless you want to run down the interstate 70 to 80 mph the milage with 3.73 gears and 4.30 will be close. In town you may even get a little better because 4.30 gears increase the power to the ground because of mechanical advantage the 4.30 provide over the 3.73 gears. Remember the new 6 speed transmission gives you 2 overdrive gears so the rpm will stay low round town.

120,000 miles. It has factory 18's on it. Sounds like the 4.30's won't be bad.

I pick up my new truck on Friday that I specifically ordered with the 4.30s and the 18" wheels on a CCSB F-250. I can't imagine being anything other than very pleased with the 4.30 gearing.

13' F250 SW 430. We tow our Regulator fishing boat all around the state, just did a 445 mile trip, no problems. MPG at 65-70mph is approx. 8.4 mpg. She is pig for sure. Rig/trailer/ice/gear/people in cab is likely 9Glbs or so. Just throw her in tow haul mode and sit back. Interesting, when I was going to pull trigger 2 salesman from 2 different dealerships were trying to talk me into the 373s. She has 16500 miles now and never been in shop other than a wheel bal issue.

Ditto. My only regret with this truck. I got impatient and bought off the lot. I did get a load of rebates though, and I don't tow real heavy (about 7500 lbs), so it does fine. If I keep the truck and want a bigger RV I may swap in lower gears, which isn't cheap, but cheaper than a new diesel
