More alternator issues

I also though it was a simple circuit with the alt powering the light but we had a thread a good while back with diagrams and discussion. Can't find it now.
But the bat light circuit isn't that simple. It is powered (lit up) through the instrument panel and voltages from two other circuits are required to keep it off. I can't remember the details though. (Sorry brain ain't working good-I have the flu

)Now that you mention it, the excite line and the dashlight line uses the same signal and will either work together or not.
The second sensing line would only help the alternator determine the true voltage needs after resistance.

All, thanks for all the help! Learned quite a bit from everyone here and across the forums.
Turned out it was another bad alternator. Third time is a charm. Also replaced the serpentine belt, just in case.
Now at least all the connections are cleaned and I shouldn't have any problems for years to come.
