BARO at Sea Level = 14.8 ???

I'm in El Centro, CA next to a big water tank with "sea level" painted on the tank about 15 feet high.

Torque gives me a BARO reading of 14.8. I thought BARO at sea level is 14.696 +/- .

Is this measurement normal? ... if not, is it materially off?

Baro varies widely but a "standard" day is 29.92 inches of Mercury.

Standard atmosphere is 14.7psi, 29.92 in. Hg or 1013 millibars at mean sea level at 59*F. If temp goes up, density altitude increases. It also depends on whether there's a high or low pressure system moving through. Right now, my weather app is showing 57* and 30.2 in. Hg and rising in El Centro. This would show 14.83psi in a perfectly accurate barometer.

In addition to "sea level" you need baro correction.

You can get that from ATIS at El Centro's airport, 269.275 MHz or 26.927 MHz. There may be a call-in, but I don't have a number.
