oil change issues

I just changed my oil and filter. The veh. in my signature.
With the engine running I checked the filter and drain plug for
any leaking. There was none.
However, there is oil leaking from around the pass. side rear oil pan.
I checked the oil and must have over filled it as it's about 1/2 in. over
the full mark on the gage.
Would over filling cause this to leak ? Should I drain about a quart out
and get it to the full mark ?
This is the first time I've ever had this issue.
Thanks,

I drained enough oil out to just be at the full mark.
Now I noticed a drip coming from the little opening in the fly wheel cover.
How do I check to see if the dip stick flang is leaking and if so how do I
repair it ? Could this flang also be causing the drip from the fly wheel cover ?
Thanks

I believe the fly wheel cover could be the drain from the engine valley. Check the valley for a puddle

^^^ This. The valley drain is on the right side at the back.

I removed the fly wheel cover for two reasons, first i wanted to see if that's where the leak was and second to see if i had a drain plug on my torque conveter.. The answer is no to both isssues.
I found the dipstick flange and it's not leaking.
It's getting dark so I'm through for the evening and will start again in the morning.
I'll check the valley for any oil.
Besides that what else could it be ? It didn't leak before I changed oil !
Thanks

You may have to bump the motor over several time to find the oil drain plug on the torque converter. (if you have one)

More than likely the oil leaking is coming from the valley, if no oil in the valley grab yourself a mirror and a good flashlight and check the oil rail plugs on the back of the heads.

LMAO at skip1970,
It didn't have hair around it only a small funnel and handlying 5 gal. of oil by a 70 year old man, I probably did miss a little.
Tomorrow I'll check the valey and put the fly wheel cover back on. There is not a drain plug in the TC..
Hopefully it will be the vally.
I'll let you know what i find.
Thanks again

Evidently Skip was right.
This morning no oil leaks and I cleaned out the valley.
I guess handlying 5 gal. bucket of oil is worse than I thought.
Maybe I need to pour ir into a smaller container first.
Thanks everyone for your help.
