Coming home late last night from hunting truck running fine. Felt a couple of moments where it felt like the truck hesitated. Exited off highway and the MIL illuminated and the truck began to loose lower and run rough. EGT gauge showed 7-800 degrees but barely moving. Limped it home tired and parked it. Went to check this morning and the truck runs fine. No MIL and no codes with a auto scanner.
Thinking UVCH but was just wondering what everyone thought. Will be next weekend before I have time to pull valve covers.

I would say find a better scanner, but UVCH would be my #1 suspect ATM.
Yeah I knew the scanner was not compatable with my truck but I figured what the hell. Anyone close to Dallas have a 7.3 scanner and time to help a brother out this week with a scan ??????
Dammit. Jacking around with the AE and I cleared the codes. Oh well I am gonnna pull the VC Sunday and check the UVCH etc..... Need to go thru Tuglys AE class thread before I screw something up. Thx
Like Pikachu said, KOEO or buzz will ferret the details out. The UVCH link in my signature is a big help as well.
It's just as well you cleared the old codes, you need fresh ones anyway. Wild geese find nests in your PCM over the years, and old codes can leave you chasing them out.
Drove truck to warm everything up...never recreated CEL / running problem. Pulled both VC and everthing looked pretty dang good. Harnesses a bit stiff but no apparent issues...no burned pins etc. however 42 pin connectors bolt was finger tight and when i disconnected it several pins had some white corrosion on them. Did not see any chaffing of the wires etc. Could the loose 42 pin connector bolt be the culprit of the P1316? cleaned with electrcial contact cleaner
Replaced the valve covers and harnesses, checked torque on injector and rocker bolts...two injectors a bit loose but not bad.
test drove 35 miles and good to go. did I miss anyting>?
I think you're good. Loose 42 pin is functionally identical to loose UVCH, the cause of the P1316 code.
A re-torque on the injectors and everything, kudos! Crack a cold one and tell the wife it was awful and you need a top side creeper for Chistmas. Or Kwanzaa or Chanukkah or whatever floats your spiritual boat.
