My truck is titled as a 1951 F1. It has what appears to be an original 6v electric dual wiper system with the motor in the middle. All of the conversion kits say they replace the vacuum motor and use it's linkage. Does anyone make a 12v motor to replace the 6v motor? The 51-52 style electric system is the most compact I have seen compared to most of the complete replacement kits. It would be nice to use it. I haven't tested to see if the 6v motor is good. I guess a 12-6v transformer is an option.

I would test the 6v first to see if it runs.. If so you could use a converter I think classic haulers sells one.... Or you could run it at 12v I know some people frown on that but everyone has their own ideas... I run my 6v blower motor in my 51 deluxe (car) on 12v and it works fine just spins a little faster... I've been running mine for about 2 years...
I also recall I may have seen a 12v replacement motor for the wipers somewhere but I thin it was pricey
There isn't a 12v motor to replace the existing, only complete systems to replace the entire unit. I had mine set up with a very heavy-duty resistor for a while, when it worked, it worked well enough. This is the resistor (actually two of them): http://www.ebay.com/itm/PORSCHE-944-85-2-ALL-INC-ALL-TURBO-S-AND-S2-AND-928-RADIATOR-FAN-RESISTORS-/221423313162?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item338ddba10a&vxp=mtr
But there is another problem with the 51-52 electric system, namely that the spindles the wiper arms attach to are a piece of crap. There is an easy way to fix them tho: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...ic-wipers.html
I found a few 12 volt to 6 volt converters (with heat sink) that claim 15 and 20 amp performance. I guess one of those would run the wipers and the heater motor. I've already converted the gauges with a Ford Constant Voltage Regulator. Voltage Reducer Regulator 12 Volts to 6 Volts 20 Amps | eBay
