I have a 2005 6.0 and occasionally it will have a rough idle. Once you accelerate it's fine and has no problem, but the moment you come to a stop light it will start doing it again and then all of a sudden it will idle normally. I already replaced the ICP sensor, but haven't done the pigtail yet. Now today, for the second time ever, it was idling rough for awhile. I made a couple stops and then went through the car wash. By the time I was pulling out of the car wash I could barely accelerate. I unplugged the ICP sensor (thinking that could be the issue), but it still took me about a 1/2 mile to get up to 45mph. Then all of a sudden it runs great again and still is running great. Like I said this is only the 2nd time it's ever gotten that bad, as it's usually just a rough idle. I'd love some input on where to start.
Kind of sounds like your egr valve is sticking. It is almost center in the front of the intake between the oil filter and alternator. It is held down by two bolts. They can be a bigger to get out so be careful not to break an ear off. While you are cleaning things the iat2 sensor is known to get gunked up as well it is screwed into the I take on the drivers side behind the fuel filter bowl. But without some testing we would be guessing could be low fuel pressure, low voltage Ficm starting to fail. You need a way to see the what the truck is doing to trouble shoot the problem.
