Rough idle and missing

Hey I have a 1993 ford f150 with the 302. I tried this question on the general forum and Im gonna try it here too. Right after I start the truck, it idles rough and wants to die. Once I put it in drive and start moving, the idle is fine. It also misses pretty bad while driving down the road. I replaced cap, rotor, wires, O2 sensor, plugs, fuel filter is newer, I can hear the pumps prime when I turn the key to on. I pulled the codes and KOEO I got a 31 and 32 which according to ford fuel injection.com means that I have low voltage (less than .24 volts) to the EVP and/or PFE, which I understand to be the EGR valve. Any ideas as to what I should do to fix my problem? Thanks.

Sounds like the EGR valve may be stuck open causing a lean condition. Remove it and see if it is stuck open from carbon build-up.

Well I checked the EGR and its fine. Not plugged up or stuck open. I also traced the wires as far back as I could and they were fine. I replaced the TPS sensor today also. It helped with most of my hesitation but did not help with my rough idle and missing. Any other ideas would be GREATLY appreciated.

id check the timing- its free to check if you have a timing light, and could help your miss... also id do a compression check, just in case.

What should the timing be set at? Isnt the timing computer controlled anyway? If I mess with the timing will it screw with the computer?

theres a grey plug in the wiring somewhere between the computer and the distributor called a spout connector... you pull the spout connector- which takes the computer control away- and set the timing- then plug it back in and test drive it. 10 degrees is usually a good starting point.

Hey, Just wondering if you have found the problem yet? I'm having the same problem with my 1990 f-250...the only difference is mine is a 351. I've tried all the same things with no luck so I just wondered if you'd had any yet?

I just realized I never updated on my problem. Well I fixed it it ended up being the EVP sensor. The little sensor thats bolted to the top of the EGR valve.
