Security warning

I just had a security warning message that my computer was infected with a virus.
I assume it was some kind of add because my security software does not actually talk.
Altho I did not see any add link on the page that I could have rolled over or accidently clicked.
No name of a product just a phone number to call.
FTE hideing advertiseing now.???

Hard to say.....With Firefox and Adblock Plus, I never see advertising anywhere.....

And using Linux, I don't worry about virus's

If you're using XP and I.E, you should upgrade your computer.

If you don't want to do that, install Linux. Ubuntu works well.

Adblock is a very handy thing.
I use it with my Mac and OS X.

Hey, I own a computer repair shop, see this one all the time. It is most likely an extension in which ever browser you are using. Let me know which browser and i will write out directions on how to get rid of it.

Thank you for the offer. I use Mozilla Firefox the last version version as of day before yesterday.
I rotate different security products every few months. I may have more of a hack than a virus at least none of the AV's and such have never found anything but I have lost the use of several computers.

Sad to say I am also a certified computer repair tech. I think I should have paid more attention on how to use them and less on how to fix em. LOL

Check the add-ons in firefox, AV wont pick them up seeing that they are not a virus they are just an annoyance they are ad networks....

Back about 18 Mo ago the ad server that feeds FTE was sending malformed
ads and really hosing Safari. So that is when I put Adblock on. So much
more nice now with the crap blocked.

I am surprised about how many times they still assume that everyone is using
that turkey called IE. You run into it so often with Ebay. Something new won't
work right after some new programer makes some change.

Wake up people IE is not the only browser out thare in use.

You are so right IE for me is totally useless now. It got that way trying to get Obama Care healt insurance. The hackers keeping the web site from working apparently were not satisfied doing that they started messing with the people trying to go there as well.
