6.0 muffler delete

How will a muffler delete on stock exhaust sound? I don't want to remove the cat because I don't want it to be too loud. I want it to sound good but not too much whistle (considering my truck is a 2003 the whistle would be very loud) Should I just to a delete pipe on the stock exhaust, or do a cat-back 4 inch straight pipe? what will sound better? Also doing the cat back exhaust will cost a lot more.. but is it worth it? give me some advice on what I should do.

It will sound incredibly sexy....

If you're single, you won't be for long, women's heads will turn, and they'll flock to you in hope you'll pick one of them as your bride. Matter of fact Kenny Chesney wrote a good song about it back in the late 90's called "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy".

If you remove the muffler, the whistle will be more pronounced and you'll hear everything better. From the throaty exhaust sound, to the "mating call" known as "turbo whistle". It won't be anything oboxious, but it wil take a little getting used to. I say this because the truck has to adjust to the new amount of exhaust flow. You could easily bypass this relearning process by disconnecting the batteries before you cut the muffler out. Once things settled down, I literally fell more in love with my truck after that.

In the cab it's not much louder. I like the sound of the straight piped 6.0L. I always turn and look when I hear one spool up. On mine, however, the exhaust fell apart in front of the rear axle. That is entirely a different matter, but not very enjoyable to drive on extended trips that way. I'd go ahead and do the muffler delete. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. And if you don't... muffler back in!

Even though TD's love song is GREAT

save your old exhaust and all the emissions crap, er, ah, technology !

Our 05 6.0 Excursion was straight piped for about a week, we drove from dfw to memphis and found someone to put a Walker BTM muffler on in memphis!
It was so bad the baby cried the whole way there ...

but, by all means, try it and see if you like it - too each his own
