I have a 351 HO with dual pipes out the back from the muffler.
I need to replace the passenger side tail pipe. Rock Auto has
one but it's for a 302 single outlet. Try as I may I cannot contact
them by phone to find out if it will work. It's only $14 before
shipping. There are no exhaust shops on this island. And the repair
shops that are here insist that I get the pipe then they will
weld it on.
So what I think I need is to know if this 302 pipe at RA will work.
Or better yet would be a Ford part number. I haven't seen ND Bill
on for a while. Napa said they can get it but for around $100 before
shipping. I am just a poor old man wanting to get the exhaust
smoke out of the truck. Do ya all know of any other outlets
that would be easier to mail order it from? Like one that will
answer the damn phone without an hour long menu that goes
no where?
shouldn't matter based on motor.
duals was not a stock exhaust setup from factory with any bronco model so what you have was done by a shop which I believe would run you less than $150 I would think.
Are you sure this isn't stock? I have seen
others with the same setup, right down to
the same hangers and clamps. It's a single
to the muffler than has two outlets at the
back of the muffler and two tail pipes dumping
out the sides behind the tires over the axle.
But I have not found this system in any on line
store yet. So you may be right. JC Whitny, Napa
and Rock Auto are all trying to sell me the tail
pipe for a 4.9 I6 setup saying its all they have.
its something pieced together. its popular because you get the duals look while only having to run a single pip from Y to the muffler. True duals would require separate exhaust wrapping around the Tcase which is difficult and pointless on our rigs.
any exhaust shop should be able to get you fixed up. the only other Item that comes to mind is a Maramount brand tail pipe. it should be bent correctly to run from muffler over axle out pass side rear fender.
Thanks Guys. No exhaust shop on this island.
Do ya all think I can use the 300 I6 pipe that
Rock Auto has? I will need to cut the pipe in
the truck off a few inches from the back of
the muffler. Than weld on a new one going up
over the axle and dumping out the side. I can't
even find a complete after market system Like
I have. Whitney had one like it a few years ago
but nothing even close now. So I don't know what
to do but maybe punt. Maybe my shop can piece
one together from Napa elbows and stuff.
Ya think?
I am heading out of town in the morning for the rest of
the week. So next week I can ask him about piecing
something together for me. IDK.
Do ya think I could just cap off that side at the
back of the muffler and would it then all exit
out the other side without hurting anything?
Or is the muffler not built that way.

I have no idea what this Maramount pipe is. Could you explain it
to me please.
that's the brand of tail pipe. although it may have been a 3" diam exhaust tail pipe. in your situation you probably only need a stock tail pipe since its coming off the pass side and the muffler would be in the stock location. go onto JCWhitney, RockAuto etc..
