gas filter change

I'm guessing that the truck has to be taken to the stealership to have this done now, I can't seem to find it like the previous trucks on the frame.

As far as I know, it is in the tank and regarded as maintenance free. Unless you have a known fueling problem I would just let it be.

All the time I spent looking for the vapor recovery tank that I never found I never ran across a fuel filter.

The fuel filter is part of the fuel tank. The filter is a life-time, non-seviceable unit and you if it plugs, you have to replace the fuel tank. I'm one of those people that actually reads the owners manuals cover-to-cover for fun.

Late model gasoline vehicles with returnless fuel injection seldom need fuel filter replacement. Usually, the filter is part of the pump model in the tank, and the reasoning is the filter will need to be replaced about when the pump wears out. Making the filter part of the tank makes little sense to me, I can just imagine needing a tank after the part has been discontinued.

It's on page 234 in the 2014 Super Duty Owner's manual if you don't believe me.
