Same here......I have a S L O W guy working on my cab and front clip. He has had it since April. Not many folks around want to do that type of work.

Your engine looks great.

Just read through your build. Really nice work and should be a blast once your finished. My wife and I have a 37 pickup old school street rod. The wife now wants something a little more hwy friendly and more room in the cab. We have put our 37 pickup up for sale and on the hunt for a 48 thru 54 pickup. I'm stopping at 54 since that's the year I was born.

Hey 54project, did you paint your frame with bed liner? I was thinking about using toughliner or something similar on my cab floor after its repaired. I know what you're talking about with getting a body shop to get a classic project done. They always have the regular collision repairs and those customers need their cars back to drive to work, etc. I hope it ends well , many times the project gets pulled out of the shop.

Greg
I did and I think it’s going to be what I wanted. I looked at having it painted or powder coated ..... not cheap ..... I actually read on another blog that someone had done that and it turned out good. Showed pictures at finish and at a little over a year old and it still looked good. For sure, more work for you, but lots cheaper !!!

Tony,
What really sucks is I asked the guy up front, “You’re not going to keep this thing for a year are you”. He told me he’d get right on it and did for a few days just enough for me to give him a mid completion payment. That was the end of all work. I thought I would have it back LAST Spring. I’ll be giddy if I get it this Spring.
