The only mirror heads I have seen have either the FoMoCo or Ford oval engraved on the back. Well, my new-to-me '71 F250 wears a Rotunda-engraved head. Ford apparently offered over-the-counter kits under their accessory trade name line....

Those Rotundas have a bolt running through the frame where as my ford ones clamped onto the frame. No holes other then at the ends for mounting..

Well, they say a picture is worth 1,000 words.....Duuuuhhh on me! I thought the freakin' steady arm rest went towards the front of the door, and was wondering how in the heck I was gonna fasten it on there!

Those mirrors on your (beautiful) F350 are exactly like mine. The steady arm rest sets below the mirror.

Gosh, if there were any way you could get a picture of precisely where that steady arm bolts into the door, that would do me some good. And, if you can't, that's cool. I'll figure it out.

Also - are those the Ford Clamp on Convex Mirrors? Can you get a close up shot of exactly how you have them mounted? If so, I would join your fan club (but not stalk you).

This really helps. I'll be putting at least one side on tomorrow.

Thanks,
Bob

I added small convex mirrors which give a broader view and also show where my rear wheel are. As far as blind spots to the left or right just a small turn of my takes care of that. I think that is better than a blind spot behind me.

No, they're aftermarket.
See TYPE 1 in post 9 for the genuine Ford C5TZ-17696-A clamp-on mirror. These have a yellow reflector lens on their front side.

I installed these same mirrors on my purchased new 1965 F100 Standard Cab, 1968 F250 Ranger, 1971 F100 Ranger XLT .. all had Western Junior Swing-Lock's (no 3rd arm).

Your acorn nuts looks as rusty as mine Do! That is one job I have on my list..... replace them with new stainless nuts and bolts. The stainless mirror back and frames should clean up real nice

ND,
What mirrors would these be? The mirror itself looks like type 4, but the base looks like type 5.

I like it for my purpose and it offers decent normal driving rear view...when it stays mostly vertical.

I am starting to think that is aftermarket because it can't be moved totally vertical as the bottom hits the door. It also can't go horizontal as the inside corner hits the base.

The first Rotunda was an iconic building FoMoCo erected for the 1933/34 Chicago World's Fair. When the fair ended, it was dismantled and moved to Dearborn near the airport and Henry Ford Museum.

While being restored, it burned to the ground in the early 1960's.

Another Rotunda was erected for the 1935 Panama-Pacific International Exhibition held at Balboa Park in San Diego. It's extant today and is now the home of the San Diego Air & Space Museum.

The Rotunda name was used for vehicle care products in the 1950's/60's. It was also a line of accessories during the early/mid 1960's. Later it was the name of FoMoCo shop tools.

Here are the pictures you requested. The convex mirrors are just generic ones I bought at an auto parts store. I tried a stick on convex mirror but it covered to much of the mirror itself so I got the clamp on mirrors. I fastened them by getting a clamp at a hardware store. To keep the clamp from slipping I cut an old bike inner tube to hold it in place.

Thanks for not stalking me!

About the convex mirrors. you will notice I put the drivers side down low because it did create a blind spot. The passenger side is up high as it did not create a blind spot. Both convex mirrors are pointed down so I can see my rear wheels when I back up and they also show a wider view than the West coast mirrors.
here are the pictures:

It looks odd with steady arm mounted backwards on the door.
A first for everything tho.
