03 starter on a 2000

Hey guys hope someone can help me out. Will a 03 gear reduction starter for a 7.3 work on my 2000 7.3? Heard it will start faster than the starter that came on the older 7.3s. Will it? Thanks for any help and info.

dont see why not. Found through threads that a 2-bolt starter will still adapt to a 3-bolt setting...

I'm running one from an 03' on my 2001 SD. No problems at all. Original was the large 3 bolt beast. The 03' was smaller and 2 bolt.

I heard that the 3 bolt was the older style spin slower starter and the 2 bolt was the newer spin faster starter. When I got my new starter it was a 3 bolt. Yes the 2003 7.3 will fit your truck no problem.

Ok thanks guys. Installed 03 7.3 starter Saturday. Starts much better/ faster. I would say if you have to replace your older 7.3 starter the 03 one is the way to go.
