Kyle's Craigslist Find - Look @ The Back Glass!

Kyle/first today sent me a link yesterday to a craigslist post: https://lawton.craigslist.org/cto/6197816502.html. It is a nice-looking truck, but the eye-opener is the back glass. Have any of you seen one of these?

At first I was going to say it's a nice looking truck but can see it has been re-painted as you can see by the rear glass rubber.
If it is as nice as it looks then that price may not be too bad.

Now that rear glass I have never seen one like that before, they have all been the slide from the center type.
Wonder if that was a "dealer" installed item?
If so who knows where it could have come from?

That's pretty nifty! I've never seen one like that before. Have you guys heard about the '87 Bigfoot edition trucks? They had a power rear window, that went up and down, just like a bronco rear window. They were custom built though, did not share any parts with broncos.

I wonder if air flows better through the cab that way rather than the sliding middle glass. May keep debris from the bed flying into the cab.
I think Gary needs to take a little trip to look it over more.

No, I'm at home enjoying the All Star game. Anyway, I think Kyle is right - the debris in the bed might not come in as much with that one.

I will always remember riding in my friends Chevy truck one night. He was drinking beers, so I was driving us around town. He spit his tobacco out the back window while I was going about 70 mph and his tobacco went out the window, came back through and smacked right up against the front windshield. I almost wrecked his truck from laughing so much.

The A/C on Big Blue isn't working so we've used the rear window frequently for ventilation. But, apparently there are little Florida leaves hiding somewhere in the bed and we keep seeing them hit the windshield and slip into the defroster vent. I think I'll have to but the HVAC on Defrost to prevent that. But those leaves move past rapidly, so I can see the tobacco coming right back in. Would have been even funnier if it had hit him in the face.

The way it bends in the middle, perhaps it's not glass. I have to wonder how well it seals, compared to the... er.... sub-optimal seal on the OEM slider.

It's probably plastic (lexan?)

Might be polycarbonate (of which LEXAN is one particular brand); it's strong but not esp. flexible, and quite scratch-prone. Acrylic is more flexible and less scratch-prone, but is not very strong.
