Window Tint

Has anybody done any additional window tint on their Excursion?

Even though the factory tint was already pretty dark, I took my new Excursion in this morning and had the 5% Limo Tint added to all the rear windows. It's so dark now..... even when you press your nose against the glass, you still can't see in. The fact the Limo tint darkened the interior of the vehicle, it also makes the driver's door glass and passenger's door glass look darker now too.

An added benefit.... I can carry stuff behind the third row seating now without fear of anybody spotting it and breaking in the vehicle.

I also added the V10 Triton emblems to the front fenders like some of the F series trucks have.

35%. Which is legal in Virginia with an exemption certificate.

50% is legal otherwise.

Sweet... I was thinking of doing the same thing. I have to double check the laws here in NC, but I think I can go 5% on the back windows, but only 35% on the front windows. I also want to add the tint strip across the top of the windshield.

I've never done window tint before, but I've been told as long as you take your time, it's pretty easy to do. I can save a bunch of $$ doing it myself.

You only need to see out the windshield.

Looking good!

I wanted a black Excursion so bad. Might still be able find one with low mileage out there somewhere soon. Wouldn't hurt to have 2 of these beasts.

That's not bad, I have 5% Limo on all the rear windows and double layer 5% Limo on the fronts. I did that to all my cars because of the area I lived in, Lauderhill, Fl.
You can't even look in the front windows if you put you hands around your eyes and put your face to the windows. Great for the hot weather and for perps. PoPo never bothered me in all my years but when I got stopped I quickly run them down. Now I'm in TN and dunno what the laws are here, less crime for sure.

out here in Cali, you can not have any tint on any windows... but there are so many cars tinted that cops don't even mess with you..

sometimes tinting is easy and sometimes it is hard.. the side windows on the X are easy to do.. the back window will need to be heated with a hair dryer..

What COLOR is your truck?

Looking to buy one soon and wanted to get used to the colors.

Is it Mineral Grey or Silver Birch or what?

Thanks

George

Guys

When you talk about tinting, you are talking about putting film on the windows, right? I mean, not actually DYING the windows...?
