I have a '94 F-150 5.0 with AOD transmission. When I put the truck in drive the engine dies. I can drive it in reverse ok. Engine runs in park and neutral. Please help!!
Sounds like you might have a vacuum leak or or maybe need to clean the IAC. Start the motor and disconnect the IAC, if the engine starts to stumble the the IAC is working.
The IAC is the Idle Air Control. It's job is to maintain a steady idle rpm by varying a air bypass around the throttle body butterflies. My engine is a 351W, but it should be in the same general location on a 5.0 I believe.
