I got a spare tranny with my 1940 1-1/2 ton panel delivery. I am trying to determine if the spare will work in my truck.
The spare's S/N is 99T-435699 which I believe indicates it goes with a 1941 95 HP engine.
01T-7006WG is cast into the driver side. I don't see this part number in the Green Book.
T-8 D1, 4, and W are cast into the passenger side on 3 separate lines. 4//25 is cast in much smaller characters to the right of the W.
What does all of this mean? Is the tranny equivalent to what is in the panel delivery?
Does the PTO just bolt onto the tranny in place of the plate on the passenger side of the tranny or are there internal modifications?
Thanks to anyone who can help.
Your spare transmission should work in your panel truck.
The PTO just bolts onto the side of the transmission in place of the plate.
The only things that may be different as far as installing the spare is the rear mount. If your spare transmission came out of a 1/2 ton pickup the rear mount will be different. If your spare transmission came out of a 3/4 ton or larger the rear mount will be the same. You can replace one mount with the other and make no other changes to the transmission.
Thanks "38". A friend is picking up the spare tranny this weekend to drain, flush, and have a knowledgeable friend of his inspect the innerds. I'll take a pic of the rear mount and compare it to the truck next time I go over.
Thanks again.
