Spare tire mount

Hi all,

I am looking for the spare tire mount (the whole assembly). I have nothing on my truck now. THe dealer doesn't sell it anymore and all of the junkyards that I have called or messeged either don't have it or don't answer.

Please let me know if you find one around or if you know where to get one..

I have an exterior carrier that is complete and in good shape. I will sell it if ya want it. Though I believe you will have to drill holes in the cab corners and put in reinforcements. I could see if I can take the mounts out of my truck, but I can bet they are welded in.

86 if your lookin for an outside mount to replace an inside spare you may have trouble. Factory comes with a heavy reinforcement bar inside rear qtr panel if you dont have that already in the qtr panel you propably wont get anything to hold up to the weight of the carrier and spare there. If you pull off your passenger tail light you will be able to see the reinforcement for the carrier if its there. If it is only problem I can see is lining up the holes you drill with the existing ones in the reinforcement. If you dont have it you may want to look into a bummper mounted carrier. Also. I believe the latch on the gate is reinforced somehow to.

My truck has all of the inside hadware I am missing all of the exterior had. Steve please email me direct at georgwh@okstate.edu so we can talk about what you have..

I purchased the inside tire mount from my Ford dealer earlier this year. They ordered it from some Ford warehouse.

There are two complete units at a salvage yard near me as of a couple of weeks ago. One looked brand new. I can check for you tomorrow if they haven't walked off yet. drusplanet(No Email Addresses In Posts!)
