I know this question sounds stupid, but this one has me stumped. I just bought 6.9 F250 and one of the first things I notice was "where is the dipstick?" I've looked all over but cant find any evidence of one ever being there. any ideas? Thanks.
The dipstick goes down through a gap in the exhaust manifold on the left, between it and the block, about half way back.
It *could* be missing -- the truck will run fine without it, though it may leak a little due to the open hole -- and you can find the hole from the bottom side of the engine, halfway back on the left side. It's about 2" above the oil pan, in a little depression.
