Ok my Chilton's Manual is no good on these for my 2003 Ford Expedition 5.4L V8:
1) the backlighting for the Moonroof switch and Vent switch on the center overhead console is out - is there a separate bulb or is backlighting part of each switch?
I actually had the center console down to replace what I thought was a burned out bulb for the right side light. But it was just loose. Chilton's Manual just said to pry off the cover. Wrong! It broke one of the two plastic studs that keep the lens in place. Had to buy a new lens, and then I figured out you have to drop the overhead center console from the ceiling, then, use a T10 star and remove the two star screws to properly install the lens. (thanks Chilton)
2) backlighting is out on the driver door for the 1 and 2 set positions of the driver seat, and, for the the driver and passenger front windows. How to fix? Backlighting for the left and right rear windows on driver door is working.
3) Driver seat AC and Heat is inop, but, passenger front seat AC and Heat works.
4) The side vent windows in the rear, one opens and closes fine, but the other opens/closes very weakly or not at all. I wonder if this is related to the backlighting issue as in #1 above.
I don't think any of these issues are fuse related. I pulled fuse #22 and it is not broken.
Thanks for any tips.
My Expedition is 11 years old with 110,000 miles so some of these backlighting and little gremlin issues are to be expected but I'd like to get them fixed.
Except for the headlight and 4WD selector switches, the bulbs are built into the switches and are not replaceable. You have to replace the switches, unless you're real handy with micro soldering very small points.
