Both sets I have had were made in North Carolina. They are both publicly listed companies, so I have no idea who owns them.
Clermont-Ferrand, France is the headquarters of Michelin But the tire I have on my truck were made in the USA, the guy who sold them to me was in the USA and the guy who installed them was in the USA... so who cares where the parent company's office is located.
My original AT2s will be worn out in spring. Had MS2s on my last F250 and really liked them. They lasted longer than my current AT2s and I thought that they were a better tire too. Will likely purchase a set of MS2s as my next tire.
I agree I had both as well. MS/2's are better. Even in the snow and mud.
I replaced my original tires with BFG Rugged Terrain T/A LT275/70R18 (load range E) at about 25,000 miles. Fiver I pull weighs just under 16,000. Have had tires rotated twice and they still look brand new.
I think these are rated slightly over 3,300 pounds each.
Thanks all for the inputs. I did go with the MS2 and I am very impressed. What a nice riding tire.
I don't know if it is wishful thinking or not but I actually believe these tires helped reduce (but not completely eliminate) my rear end bounce @ 40-45 mph.
Again this also could be wishful thinking but I have seen an increase in my fuel milage of an average of 1.5 mpg, both empty and towing my 5'er. Now to be honest, there were other factors that probably were the real cause of this increase as I changed my fuel and air filters just before towing so that may be the real reason for the increase.
What ever the reason, I'll take it
