One way to permanently eliminate that is to pull motor pull pan and put a new aftermarket flange in there. I have to try a find the good one but that is a pain in the arss!

Option 2 is to pull the nut off the flange and replace with new. With some luck and pliers to try and get the inside nut out without dropping it into the inside of the pan although I heard it's not the end of the world if you do (from what I heard).

Option 3 Not cheap but here you go.
Driven Diesel Dipstick Adapter Repair Kit 94-03 7.3L Ford Powerstroke

Although on my list I have not done this before so not a hole lot of help here.

I hear you about pulling the motor. As for me I eventually have to because my oil pan gasket is leaking. I know you don't have to completely pull the motor to get the pan off you just have to pull the turbo and lift the engine up several inches and wiggle it out. But that driven diesel flange is probably the best way to go.

Others will chime in with ideas.

That replacement flange says the the old piece thats on the inside of the pan just falls in the oil pan and stays in there i dont like the sounds of that very much

When that nut comes apart on the side of the oil pan is the factory O ring on the inside or outside of the pan ??

Ya I didn't like the sound of that either but from what I was told not a big deal and that is where the pliers would come in and try and catch it before it does fall. Use a pick to try and catch it then pull it out with pliers. As for the O-ring I believe its on the outside not sure though.

The inside part is the whole flange, and it can't be removed (at least not intact) through the hole in the pan. You can catch the o-ring with a hook and extract it, but the flange will drop into the pan and stay there. Diesel o-rings has a kit to replace the o-ring without removing the pan from the engine.

you can search you tube for videos on this, I ran across one not that long ago that covers this very issue. I thought it was a decent video, but others may disagree. Good luck.

Is there anyway possible to replace the factory O ring with new one successfully without removing the oil pan
Has it been done ???

I dont want to have that inside flange sitting in the bottom of my oil pan possibly with the old O ring thats a little bold
