So the rains have hit the west coast, and after a great summer of dry weather I turned the wipers on and they seam to be running half speed. Like trying to get my dog to come inside, they slowly make their way across the window, in no hurry whatsoever. All the functions work, but they are all half speed.
Any ideas why this is happening? I've got a donor truck I could pull the motor from, but I'm wondering if it might be the control unit or a ground issue? The truck is a 93 xlt. The donor is an 89, so they have different control units.
Yup. Turns out that is exactly what it was. I pulled the one from my parts truck and put it in this afternoon (right before the storms hit, luckily enough) and I've got proper wipers again.
As a note to the motor type, the one I replaced it with was from an 89, and my truck is a 93, 100% interchangeable. The only difference was the 89 had a ground strap attached to the block where as the 93 did not.
