While I'm at it I decided to change the injectors. I have a 1987 F250 with a 6.9 N/A Diesel and a c6 trammy. I'm looking at changing the injectors and would like to get a good read on what I need to be looking for as in where I can get good injectors without breaking the bank and any numbers for the injectors. I've read some different opinions in previous posts and would like to see what's avialable for my truck and where from.
Are you looking for stock replacements or do you want bigger ones. Dependable Diesel in Arizona do a real nice job on injectors, thats all they do. rebuild flow test and will build or rebuild your own if you want to keep the correct numbers on your engine. Look them up, you can basically go anywhere look at the FTE sponsors they would have them as well.
I'm not looking for anything special, just some good old injectors for my completely stock F250. I do run vegi oil on occasion if that makes a difference.

I was going to recommend r&d injectors. However, if you aren't concerned with performance just type in 6.9l to eBay. Anything you buy will work. If you want a bitchin set of injectors, go r&d. I will recommend not using the whole vegitable oil idea. Correct me if I'm wrong, that just doesn't seem kosher to me.
DO. NOT. BUY. REMANUFACTURED. INJECTORS.
It will cost more to buy new -- in the $365 range, but if you buy 'remanufactured' ones, you are throwing money away -- the only 'remanufacture' job these companies do is to clean and pressure-match the injectors; the wear components cost too much to put into an old housing.
I did a whole bunch of research on this after having my set of remanufactured injectors become utterly horrible after about 10-15K. As in, one leaking massively, +-400 PSI difference between injectors(supposed to be +-50-100 PSI) meaning lost performance, smoke, poorer fuel economy etc.
I'd even go so far as to say that on a budget, I'd get an Injector Pressure Tester for $150 or so off Ebay, get a set or two of 'unknown' injectors from the local junk yard, take the best 8 and shim them to be within 100PSI of each other -- Once you've got the tester, it's a simple enough job; just requires a couple of wrenches and a clean work area.
