What do you guys use and where can I buy/borrow(guages hoses ect) to pressure test my cooloing system. I have on occasion been getting some coolant blow out of the degas bottle. I have also seen on some start up some white smoke in the exhaust (not everytime). Just got a replacement cap yesterday and have an egr cooler delete sitting in a box waiting for a good weekend. Last week I drove 500 highway miles empty with no blow out. Then drove 10 miles at home pulling 10k and had a small amount come out of the cap.
I'll assume Advanced has a similar tester no O'reillys around for me to use. I also want to T in to the return on the degas bottle and do a driving test to see what the pressure is.
You can also use a "generic" parts store T fitting and pressure gauge to connect to the small line from the radiator to the degas bottle and let the system build it's own pressure. Use a hose long enough to put the gauge under the windshield wiper or tape in to the outside of the windshield and take it for a drive.
