You'd have better luck in the "large truck" forum. In the super duty group farther up the page.

Welcome to FTE

This is the 1967/72 forum, please post further questions in the Large Truck forum.

6th digit of the VIN is either the letter O or Q .. it's not a zero.

F60 = F600 (gas).

D = 330 2V Heavy Duty FT engine.

V = Kentucky Truck Assembly Plant.

Q60,041 = 1973.

O60,041 = 1977.

It could be a 391 now. It was Originally built with a 330 HD. Check the stroke of the engine through a spark plug whole. BTW, 330 was 2V as noted above. 391's were 4V governed. But intakes can be swapped.

Okay I'm seeing the 2 V & 4 V what is the v for venturi?? This one has a 4 brl carb on it "Edlebrock" also I have never measured stroke through the spark plug hole. How would I go about that one? Screw driver and measure the distance up & down or ? I did find something that said put # 1 on tdc stroke and a piece of wire to mark both the # 1 & 4 cyls with. Is that correct & if so what would be the 391 something around 3.8" or ?
Thanks again Ed

"V" stands for venturi. That's how Ford list 2BBl,4BBL,etc. Yes,only most use a wooden dowel. Easier on the top of the piston and also easier to mark. Use the lip of the valve cover as a reference point.

We got # 1 on TDC made sure mark was on 0 and pulled # 4 spark plug. Marked both 1 & 4 and the dif we got was right at 4" does that make it a 391 or bigger?? I'm not sure but after cleaning it up would say it's Jasper rebuild.
